Role Description The Chief Lending Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Parker, CO, responsible for leading and overseeing all commercial lending operations and strategies. This role manages the commercial loan portfolio to ensure sound underwriting, appropriate risk management, and alignment with organizational mission and regulatory requirements. The Chief Lending Officer develops commercial lending policies, supervises lending staff, and sets performance goals for loan origination, approval, and servicing.
Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and approving complex church and university lending requests, monitoring portfolio performance, collaborating with executive leadership on capital deployment, and providing reports and recommendations to the executive team and board. The role also involves building and maintaining relationships with church leaders, investors, and universities identifying new lending opportunities, and ensuring that lending practices support sustainable growth and ministry impact.
Qualifications
- This position requires regular travel, including overnight and multi-day trips. Expect up to 50% travel.
- Must be currently attending a non-denominational Christian Church or Church of Christ.
- Strong knowledge of NASAA lending regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong underwriting skills, including credit analysis, risk assessment, and loan structuring for church and university lending.
- Executive management experience overseeing lending teams, setting strategic direction, and collaborating with senior leadership.
- Expertise in portfolio management, including monitoring performance, managing concentration and credit risk, and optimizing returns.
- Background in commercial lending and commercial or ministry-related lending, with a solid understanding of lending regulations and best practices.
- Advanced finance knowledge, including financial modeling, budgeting, and capital allocation within a lending or financial services environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.
- Proven leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
- Experience working with faith-based or nonprofit organizations, and familiarity with the Restoration Movement or similar church communities is a plus.
