Serve Your Community as a Reserve Police Officer

The Town of Parker Police Department invites experienced, certified law enforcement professionals to apply for our Reserve Police Officer Program. This program offers a unique opportunity to contribute to public safety, support sworn officers, and serve the Parker community while maintaining your primary career.

Reserve officers enhance the department's operational capacity and play an important role in daily policing activities. Assignments may include patrol support, special events, traffic enforcement, community engagement efforts, and other operational needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be graduates of a full law enforcement academy and meet one of the following criteria:

* Currently hold an active Colorado P.O.S.T. certification, or

* Previously held full law enforcement certification in Colorado or another state and have successfully completed a recognized refresher academy.

All reserve officers are required to maintain Colorado P.O.S.T. certification throughout their service.

Professional Expectations

Reserve officers are sworn peace officers and are held to the same standards of conduct, training, and accountability as full-time police officers. Reserves must comply with all applicable laws, Town of Parker policies, and Police Department procedures and participate in ongoing training requirements.

A minimum of twenty (20) hours of duty each month that can include: regular police duty, training, and range time. If wanting to move to solo status a full time 16-week (approximately) PTO training must be completed.

This posting is for a Volunteer Reserve Officer position.

Under limited supervision, this position carries out duties and the laws of the Town of Parker, State of Colorado, and the United States of America. Working in partnership with the community to identify and resolve issues of concern, this position provides public safety services to the community, and maintains peace, safety, and order. This position exercises considerable judgment, initiative, and skill in a variety of situations and must be able to complete work without direct supervision.

* This position performs duties deemed to be safety sensitive. Employees holding this position participate in pre-employment and random drug testing under Town's policies
