Next Gen Federal Systems, LLC (Next Gen) is seeking an Electronics Technician to provide hands‑on electronics equipment support for the Department of Justice (DOJ) United States Marshals Service (USMS) Tactical Operations Division (TOD), Office Of Strategic Technology Tactical Communication Program.

Responsibilities- Support USMS asset tracking and inventory.
- Have previous LMR experience.
- Possess a thorough understanding of LMR operations and technologies, including:
- Experience with building codeplugs for P25 subscriber devices on both trunking and conventional infrastructures. Motorola APX preferred.
- Experience with building codeplugs for P25 infrastructure devices. Motorola G‑series devices preferred.
- Experience with Quantar and GTRs preferred.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and terminate the following cable types:
- Category 5, 6, 7 UTP and STP twisted pair networking cable to industry standards.
- RG58 or similar 50 Ω coaxial cable.
- RG6 or similar 75 Ω coaxial cable.
- Hardline coaxial cable such as Heliax or Superflex cables.
- Align and tune the following RF assets/devices using an RF network analyzer/service monitor:
- P25 Subscribers (both mobile and portable).
- P25 Infrastructure devices.
- RF filters/cavities.
- Be familiar with various fiber optic cable types, connectors, and use cases for each.
- Configure and troubleshoot at a basic level various IoT devices to facilitate basic communication capabilities on the network.
- Coordinate with local and federal agencies in the development of communications plans for interoperability.
- Troubleshoot both P25 subscribers and infrastructure devices, including:
- Checking for proper antenna type(s).
- Performing antenna line health checks via various means.
- Understanding and troubleshooting vehicle radio installs.
- Coordinate with the immediate manager and the USMS COR on projected systems, current and planned capabilities, compatibility, costs and benefits, joint agency efforts, and other critical areas as dictated (in written and verbal form).
- Be a self‑starter and work well in both a team environment and independently.
- Ability to work onsite.
- Ability to travel for work.
- Ability to work with ladders/at height.
- Currently possess a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
- Experience with LMR devices (Motorola preferred).
