Position: Manager The Bean Pedaler

We are seeking a hands‑on Working Manager to lead daily operations across coffee, food, bar, baking, and bicycle services. This is an active, on‑the‑floor leadership role. The Working Manager is expected to work alongside the team while setting standards, training staff, and ensuring exceptional customer experience and operational efficiency.

This position requires strong leadership, organization, and the ability to balance service, staff management, and administrative responsibilities.

Coffee, Food, Bar & Baking Operations
  • Work shifts alongside staff while:
  • Producing consistent, high‑quality products
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization
  • Managing workflow during slow and high‑volume periods
  • Train and coach employees by example
  • Oversee inventory and supplies; delegate ordering when appropriate
Bicycle Operations
  • Actively support bicycle services including:
  • Customer service and rentals
  • Knowledge of bicycle parts and basic diagnostics
  • Clean, organized shop standards
  • Manage bicycle and parts inventory
Leadership & Administration/Human Resources
  • Hire, train, coach, evaluate, and terminate employees as needed
  • Collect and maintain required employment documentation
  • Verify employee timecards and submit bi‑weekly payroll
Scheduling
  • Create and post weekly schedules at least 7 days in advance
  • Enforce scheduling, attendance, and time‑off policies
  • Manage daily cash handling, drops, and weekly deposits
  • Pay bills and invoices accurately and on time
Maintenance & Cleanliness
  • Perform and oversee routine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Create and enforce deep‑cleaning schedules
  • Coordinate professional repairs as needed
Reporting
  • Payroll and labor cost tracking
  • Employee productivity reporting
  • Monthly inventory reporting
  • Respond to customer feedback and reviews
  • Oversee daily social media posting and engagement
  • Train and manage marketing staff
  • Develop strategies to increase sales and enhance the customer experience
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of leadership or management experience (hospitality, retail, or operations preferred)
  • Comfortable working on the floor while managing operations
  • Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory, and cash handling
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
  • Bicycle experience a plus, but not required

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week

  • Paid time off
