SummaryThe Welder III is a senior‑level welding professional responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components and structural products according to customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards. This role operates advanced welding equipment, supports production throughput, ensures weld integrity, and provides training and work guidance to other welders. The Welder III serves as a technical resource within the welding department and supports continuous improvement, safety, and quality initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble metal components using MIG, TIG, arc, and gas welding processes
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings
- Set up welding equipment and prepare materials for welding
- Inspect welds for accuracy, penetration, and structural integrity
- Grind, clean, and prepare welded materials for production
- Ensure finished products meet company and customer quality standards
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and cleaning
- Stage raw materials and completed parts appropriately
- Identify weld defects or material concerns and escalate as needed
- Follow all safety, PPE, and hazard control requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Welding certification or trade school training preferred
- Prior welding experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG welding on steel and aluminum
- Ability to pass a welding proficiency test
- Blueprint reading and weld symbol knowledge required
- Positive, team‑oriented attitude
