Role DescriptionThe Director of Development is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Parker, CO, responsible for leading and growing the organization’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This role oversees the planning and execution of development strategies, including individual giving programs, major gifts and donor stewardship activities. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include managing fundraising campaigns, cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors and partners, preparing grant proposals and reports, and tracking development metrics to meet revenue goals.
The Director collaborates with leadership and program staff to align funding priorities with organizational needs, develops and manages the development budget, and ensures that all fundraising activities reflect the organization’s mission and values.
- Demonstrated expertise in fundraising and philanthropy, with a track record of building and sustaining donor relationships.
- Experience with planned giving and annual giving programs, including strategy development and implementation.
- Strong budgeting skills, including planning, forecasting and financial monitoring related to development activities.
- Proven ability to design and lead comprehensive development strategies, including grant writing and donor communications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational, project management and analytical abilities, with attention to detail and follow‑through.
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations; familiarity with Native communities or cultural competence is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, business or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
