Are you interested in summer employment working outdoors in beautiful Colorado? Foothills is seeking candidates to join our seasonal Park Maintenance crews. This position is responsible for the maintenance of our parks and trails including landscaping and mowing. Experience preferred but not required - on the job training is provided!
The typical work schedule is early mornings. May also include weekends and/or holidays.
At this time, both our Urban and Regional Parks departments are hiring:
URBAN PARKS
- includes multiple community/neighborhood parks, greenbelts and trails throughout the District. Employees report for work each day at our Maintenance & Service Center (located near Kipling Pkwy & HWY 285).
REGIONAL PARKS
- includes Easton Regional Park (located near Coal Mine Ave. & Bowles Ave.) and Schaefer Athletic Complex (located near Kipling Pkwy & HWY 285).
CLEMENT PARK
- large regional park with many amenities located near Bowles Ave. & Wadsworth Blvd.
- Mow and edge lawns; trim, weed and prune landscaped areas; prepare and fertilize soil; plant lawns, trees, shrubs, hedges and flowers.
- Hoe weeds and rake lawns; water various grounds areas by hand and operate sprinkler systems as assigned.
- Collect trash and perform general grounds cleaning (restroom, picnic shelters, tennis/volleyball courts, etc.).
- Operate riding and push mowers, edgers, weed eaters, blower, rakes, brooms, shovels, hose, chain saws, and other grounds maintenance tools and equipment.
- Clean and perform routine maintenance on grounds maintenance equipment and tools.
- Install, operate, maintain and repair sprinkler/drainage systems as assigned.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations.
- Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
- Correct or inform supervisor of any hazards; communicate issues/complaints to supervisor as needed.
- Assist other departments with District events as needed.
- Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
- Ability to move/lift 75lbs.
- Be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Certain individuals will be asked to drive District vehicles, in those cases the employee must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
- No previous experience required, training available.
- One (1) year seasonal experience.
- Experience operating commercial landscape equipment required.
- Specialized technical skill such as irrigation, forestry, natural resources or crew lead required.
