Summary

The Field Service Representative manages licensed radioactive tracer services (proppant tracers) during well site operations, ensuring compliance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Agreement State regulations. The incumbent functions as the Radiation Safety Officer, assesses well site operations, communicates with customers, and guarantees safe and optimal tracer performance.

Duties & Responsibilities Job Management Responsibilities
  • Communicate job objectives, design, and possible operation changes with the client, including reviews of safety and flow‑back procedures, proppant and chemical tracer objectives, and job design needed to achieve objectives.
  • Gather and evaluate information on well specifications, fracture stages, perforation depths, casing, tubing, and completion type.
  • Analyze data to strategize rig‑up scenarios and recommend optimal design to maximize tracer outcomes.
  • Analyze mud reports to determine appropriate tracer amounts and adjust job design in real‑time based on drilling mud system changes.
  • Exercise independent judgment to adjust job design while considering regulatory, safety, and diagnostic goals.
Tracer Operations
  • Survey the well site after completion to ensure no radioactive residue remains.
  • Provide technical product support for proppant and chemical tracers.
  • Determine appropriate mix of tracers and monitor injection into the well.
  • Use the STMU (Spectral Tracer Monitoring Unit) to measure downhole tracer material.
  • Communicate status of tracer operations to the client, including screen‑outs, pump stops, and job completion.
  • Accurately complete all required reports at job conclusion, such as job site survey and inventory of materials.
Job Close Responsibilities
  • Conduct post‑job review with the client and obtain post‑job treatment report.
  • Discuss future work opportunities and schedule next service.
  • Promote and educate the client on Core Laboratories services that meet their needs.
  • Review marketing materials with the client when appropriate.
Training/Teaching Responsibilities
  • Train clients and flow‑back crews on proper sampling and documentation procedures.
  • Train engineers, field personnel, and mud engineers on sampling schedules, specialized equipment, safety, and quality controls.
  • Train well site personnel on the use of radiation survey meters and techniques.
Radiation Safety Responsibilities
  • Enforce radiation protection rules and standards on behalf of the licensee.
  • Act as Radiation Safety Officer, including emergency response and implementation of procedures per the Pro Technics O&E Manual.
  • Conduct safety meetings and oversee ALARA radiation control and emergency procedures.
  • Evaluate and control emergency situations, direct third‑party personnel, and communicate effectively during emergencies.
  • Supervise decontamination activities for various operations and emergencies.
  • Communicate with regulatory inspectors and auditors on compliance and procedural details.
  • Stop operations if safety hazards are identified to prevent injury or death.

Job Duties
  • Be on‑call 24/7 and respond to calls within 60 minutes.
  • Travel and work on weekends as required.
  • Handle and transport all assigned radioactive material safely.
  • Maintain assigned company vehicle, keeping it clean and in good mechanical condition.
  • Deliver products and services to customers as needed.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and minimize workplace accidents.

Job Requirements After Hire
  • Establish residence within a 60‑minute drive to the local district office within 90 days of employment.
