Chemours is seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team. This position will be available at the Washington Works site in Parkersburg, WV and report directly to the Polymers Manufacturing Technology Manager. This role will serve as a Chemical Engineer in the Polymers operations at Washington Works. The individual will provide overall Chemical Engineering guidance and support for the Operations, Maintenance and Technology Teams in the Polymers Area.

This will entail involvement in day-to-day troubleshooting in the plant, as well as support for improvement programs in the areas of yield, uptime, reliability, cost, safety, new capital installations, etc. Individual unit operations include but are not limited to: reactors, pumps, piping, tanks, dryers, heat exchangers, filtration, scrubbing, extrusion, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a Chemical Engineering resource
  • Recommend and implement solutions to drive continuous improvement
  • Assist with recommendations for day-to-day troubleshooting
  • Lead and participate in incident investigations
  • Participate in Process Hazards Analysis (PHA)
  • Lead capital projects for various improvements
  • Provide environmental support
  • Travel requirements are less than 10%
Required qualifications
  • BS in Chemical Engineering
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of typical equipment used in a Chemical Plant (i.e. pumps, compressors, piping, distillation columns, reactors, refrigeration machines, etc.)
  • Good Oral and Written skills
  • Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.
  • Two years or more of engineering experience
Preferred qualifications
  • Five years or more of experience in a chemical manufacturing process
  • Experience leading/participating in Process Hazards Analyses
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) Certification

Compensation

Pay Range (in local currency): $85,801.00 - $

Chemours Level: 24 Annual Bonus Target: 8% The pay range and incentives listed above is a general guideline based on the primary location of this job only and not a guarantee of total compensation. Factors considered in extending a compensation offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data.

The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
