Delivers high‑quality training to Westbrook Health Services staff and external partners, including law enforcement, first responders, schools, and community organizations. TALK, Right Response and CPR/First Aid.
This role builds and sustains strong community partnerships to strengthen referral pathways, coordinated responses, and early intervention for adults and youth. The position also supports workforce development, compliance, and continuous quality improvement through structured training initiatives.
Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in human services discipline preferred, other disciplines may be considered based on experience. Computer experience in Microsoft systems including PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, etc. required. Must pass Criminal Investigation Background and DHHR background check as well as post‑offer drug screen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver internal and external trainings in Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, safe
TALK, Right Response, CPR/First Aid, de‑escalation, crisis response, and compassion fatigue. - Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, schools, law enforcement, and first responders to strengthen referral pathways and coordinated crisis response.
- Identify organizations and groups that would benefit from training; conduct outreach, schedule sessions, and track participation and outcomes.
- Support onboarding, refresher training, and competency‑based education for staff across programs.
- Collect, maintain, and report training data to support quality improvement, compliance, audits, and grant or funding requirements (as applicable).
- Assist with Training Department administrative functions, including curriculum review/revision, documentation management, scheduling, and audit preparation.
- Participate in continuous quality assurance and performance improvement activities related to training effectiveness and workforce readiness.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, federal, state, and agency policies.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and support for Westbrook Health Services’ mission, vision, values, and code of ethical behavior.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, facilitate, and deliver engaging trainings to diverse audiences (staff, community members, law enforcement, first responders, schools, and partner organizations).
- Strong public speaking and group facilitation skills; able to adapt content and delivery style to meet the needs of varied learners and professional roles.
- Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with internal teams and external community partners to support coordinated response and referral pathways.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, including the ability to schedule trainings, manage competing priorities, and meet documentation and reporting requirements.
- Ability to collect, track, and accurately maintain training data and documentation for quality improvement, audits, and funding or compliance purposes.
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles and trauma‑informed, culturally responsive training practices.
- Demonstrated professionalism, ethical judgment, and commitment to confidentiality, HIPAA, and organizational standards.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency with basic technology used for training and documentation (e.g., PowerPoint, Teams, Excel, learning platforms, scheduling tools).
- Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain required trainer certifications (e.g., Adult & Youth Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, safe
TALK, Right Response, CPR/First Aid) within designated time frames, if not already credentialed. - Ability to travel within the service area to provide on‑site training and community outreach as required.
