Position Summary

The TAS is a critical role in our customer model to deliver the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and drive adoption of BMS medicines for appropriate patients. The TAS engages HCPs with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue aligned with label, leveraging new ways of working and CE^3.

The TAS builds and maintains professional credibility with regional thought leaders (RTLs) and community-based physicians/HCPs in private practice, medical groups, office staff, and other stakeholders in the patient care continuum as their primary point of contact. The TAS liaises with other BMS functions to deliver higher Cx by meeting HCP needs in a timely and scientific manner. The role prioritizes safe and appropriate use of BMS products while focusing on business results and BMS values.

The TAS role is field based and is anticipated to spend 100% of time in the field with external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Promotion:
    Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Promotes demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains/grows a high level of scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses CE^3 (when implemented) to inform call plans and provide feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue:
    Demonstrates scientific expertise using approved resources to present information to HCPs and ensures medical accuracy.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related information aligned with label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs, selecting speakers from approved lists and facilitating scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintains working knowledge on emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages real-time medical support through Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Proactively collaborates with field teams to ensure best Cx for HCPs and shares insights internally to improve service.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
  • Ability to communicate scientific data accurately and convincingly to help physicians serve patients.
  • Strong credibility with key customers, office staff, and others via a customer-centric mindset and desire to create differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
  • Experience in Oncology is preferred.
  • Strong account management skills, selling competencies, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a history of performance.
