This travel ICU RN job offers the chance to work in a supportive critical care environment with a varied patient population and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every shift.
- Position: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (ICU RN)
- Location: Parkersburg, WV 26101
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shifts Per Week: Typically 3 shifts per week
- Schedule: Nights, with weekends as scheduled; every other weekend expected
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,070 - $2,180
- Charting System: EPIC
- Floating: May float to Stepdown and Med Surg as needed
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 1 year of critical care or ICU experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong experience with CRRT, IABP, ventilators, post-code care, and therapeutic hypothermia
- Competency with vasoactive medications, sedation, and paralytics
- Ability to titrate critical care drips within ordered parameters
- Comfortable caring for patients with complex diagnoses in a fast-paced ICU environment
- Experience with EPIC preferred; completion of required education before start
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to ICU patients with complex and evolving needs
- Monitor and interpret patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status
- Administer and titrate critical care medications, drips, and therapies per orders and protocol
- Care for and remove central lines as appropriate
- Collaborate closely with intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and the nursing team
- Support care for patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, DKA, renal failure, and post-operative surgical conditions
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and follow unit procedures and safety standards
- Float to Stepdown or Med Surg units when needed to support patient care
