Registered Nurse - Med Surg and Cardiac Observation

This is a 13-week contract position.

12-hour night shifts, with weekends as scheduled.

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care in a busy Med Surg and cardiac observation unit. The nurse will manage a variety of cases including pre/post catheterization patients, chest pain rule outs, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure (CHF), pacemaker management, and arrhythmias.

• Administer medications and manage IV drips, including set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone.
• Monitor vital signs, EKG readings, and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Provide patient education and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality care.
• Assist in diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, bladder scans, and FSBS.
• Manage patient care by effectively coordinating with nursing aides and support staff.

• Current RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Ability to read cardiac strips and experience with Cardizem and Amiodarone.
• Experience with TR Bands is a plus.
