Med/Surg | Registered Nurse | 13-Week Travel RN Contract – Parkersburg, WV Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Assignment in Parkersburg, WV

Travel Med/Surg RN opportunity in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Join a supportive acute care team and gain valuable experience caring for a diverse patient population with infectious disease and isolation needs in a well-organized Med/Surg unit.

  • Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Assignment
  • Setting: Acute care Med/Surg unit with infectious disease and isolation patients
  • Employment Type: Travel Nurse Job
  • Shift: 12-hour nights
  • Shift Duration: 12 hours
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,930 - $2,030
  • Start Date: 08/15/2026
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Orientation: EPIC orientation plus floor orientation with a preceptor
Job Requirements
  • Active RN license
  • At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN or acute care nursing experience required
  • EPIC experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • Strong knowledge of Med/Surg, infectious disease, and isolation precautions
  • Ability to work nights, weekends as scheduled, and float as needed
  • Comfortable caring for patients with COVID, MRSA, C-Diff, and other infectious diagnoses
Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg patients with infectious disease and isolation needs
  • Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered, including Heparin and common Med/Surg antibiotics
  • Monitor patient conditions, assess changes, and communicate appropriately with the care team
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC
  • Follow infection control and isolation protocols consistently
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, respiratory therapy, and other clinical staff to support efficient patient care
  • Float to other Med/Surg units as needed, with patient assignments matched to skillset if floated to telemetry
  • Work within a team-based environment focused on quality, safety, and excellent patient outcomes
