- Med Surg/Infectious Disease (12-Hour Nights)
Schedule
12-hour night shifts, with weekends as scheduled. Shifts are from with a half-hour lunch break, and will require every other weekend availability.
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Med Surg/Infectious Disease unit. The ideal candidate will possess experience in handling various infectious diseases, including COVID-19, MRSA, and C-Diff, while maintaining adherence to isolation precautions. This is a travel position, requiring proficiency in EPIC and a strong knowledge base in Med Surg nursing.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with infectious diseases.
- Utilize isolation precautions effectively to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Administer medications and IV drips as appropriate, including common Med Surg IV medications and antibiotics.
- Work collaboratively with a team of RNs and CNAs to maintain optimal patient care ratios.
- Participate in charge duties as assigned, particularly during night shifts.
- Complete a day of unit-specific orientation and a day of EPIC training prior to working independently.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Active RN license.
- BLS certification (AHA).
- Experience in Med Surg and Infectious Disease nursing.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Travel experience preferred.
