American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week nights assignment requiring 2 years of experience and a WV or compact RN license.

• Acute care Med/Surg unit specializing in medical stroke care
• Unit flexes up to 35 beds with an average daily census of 26-28 patients
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6, supported by 3 PCTs
• Patient population includes stroke (post-TPA or lower level), COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, occasional surgical overflow, and thyroidectomy cases
• 12-hour night shifts with weekends as scheduled
• Uses EPIC EMR

• Active WV or compact RN license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BSN not required
• EPIC and prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
• NIHSS certification or stroke experience a plus
• Unexpired copy of driver's license required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care on a busy medical stroke Med/Surg unit
• Collaborate with a care team including PCT support staff
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify as a traveler
• Returning WVU Medicine travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine facilities for longer than one cumulative year without a 2-year break
• All candidates interview directly with the unit manager
