GC Estimator – Public​/Municipal Construction

We are seeking a GC Estimator to join our construction team. This role is focused on public‑sector and municipal work, including competitive hard‑bid, sealed‑bid procurement for ground‑up new construction and major renovation projects.

The right candidate will understand how to build a complete, accurate, and competitive estimate under tight deadlines, with a strong grasp of public bidding requirements, subcontractor coverage, scope leveling, and risk identification.

• Prepare detailed bid packages for public and municipal projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents
• Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Identify scope gaps, bid risks, value engineering opportunities, and pricing strategies
• Manage multiple bid pursuits with strict deadlines
• Coordinate with operations, project management, and leadership during bid preparation
• Participate in post‑bid reviews, buyout, and handoff to the construction operations team

• Ground‑up public construction
• Major renovations and additions
• Municipal and government facilities
• Schools, public buildings, infrastructure‑related vertical construction, and similar work

• Estimating experience with a general contractor
• Experience with sealed bids and hard deadline procurement
• Ability to read plans and specs thoroughly and produce scope packages for all subcontractor trade disciplines
• Ability to engage subcontractors and maintain close, long‑term relationships
• Organized, deadline‑driven, and highly detail‑oriented

• Experience estimating both new construction and major renovation work
• Knowledge of public procurement requirements, bid forms, alternates, unit prices, and bid bonding procedures
• Proficiency in estimating and takeoff software such as Building Connected and MS Excel
