Job Summary:

As a Counter Staff Shift Leader at our seafood market, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the counter, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and supervising a team of counter staff. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, implementing procedures, and promoting a positive working environment.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service Excellence:

• Greet customers and assist them with their seafood selections.
• Ensure a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all customers.
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Maintain knowledge of seafood products, including sourcing, preparation, and cooking recommendations.

Team Supervision and Training:

• Supervise, train, and mentor counter staff members.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
• Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback..

Operational Management:

• Oversee the daily opening and/or closing procedures of the counter.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed.
• Manage cash handling procedures and reconcile transactions at the end of shifts.

Quality Control:

• Monitor product displays to ensure attractive presentation and organization.
• Collaborate with management to develop promotional strategies and marketing initiatives.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar role within the restaurant industry or retail environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:

• This position involves standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Handling of seafood products and operation in a refrigerated environment may be required.
