Business Teacher: Holy Name High School

The Office of Catholic Education is seeking a Business Teacher for Holy Name High School.

• Understand and witness the school and diocesan mission.
• Teach business courses in accordance with the Diocese of Cleveland and Ohio Department of Education standards, including Intro to Business, Investing and the Stock Market, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, Marketing, and Financial Literacy.
• Assist students in developing career awareness and readiness through exploration, goal setting, and linking coursework to future opportunities.
• Use a variety of instructional methods to meet diverse learner needs.
• Integrate technology to enhance learning.
• Use student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning using a variety of materials and resources.
• Develop schemes of work and lesson plans.
• Establish clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Provide appropriate feedback on student assignments.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
• Update all records in compliance with laws, district policies, and school regulations.
• Prepare required reports on students and activities, communicating necessary information to stakeholders.
• Manage classroom behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Maintain discipline in line with school disciplinary systems.
• Apply appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.
• Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
• Collaborate with students and colleagues.
• Attend required professional development meetings.
• Write professional development goals as required by the LPDC.
• Keep up-to-date with developments in the subject area, teaching resources, and methods, adjusting instructional plans accordingly.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• Commitment to Catholic teachings and traditions and to best practices in Catholic education for high school youth.
• VIRTUS certification and FBI/BCI background check required.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a related field;
  Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of two years working with high‑school students.
• Current Ohio teaching license or willingness to obtain certification.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks.
• Self‑starter who can work independently.
• Energy and enthusiasm for developing students for success.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education.

Salary commensurate with experience and educational level under the CHALTA Agreement.
