Registered Nurse DaVita Skilled Nursing Dialysis (DSD)

Location address: 7040 Hepburn Rd. Middleburg Heights, OH 44130

3 Days A Week, 12+ Hour Shifts

No On Call

* Training Provided*

Dialysis experience is preferred but not required! We offer a very robust PAID TRAINING PROGRAM with HANDS ON TRAINING! This position will be based at our dialysis site location within the Broadview Nursing Home. Primary work schedule will be 3-4 days a week with some required travel to other SNF clinics within your region (depending on business and patient needs).

Alternating Saturdays will also be required.

DaVita Kidney Care brings industry‑leading clinical quality to patients on‑site at skilled nursing facilities (SNF) through the new DaVita Skilled Nursing Dialysis Services (DSD). About 10% of all dialysis patients reside in an SNF and are transported to dialysis three times a week, creating burdens for patients and health care costs. DSD teammates will have access to comprehensive resources and will work to grow the new service line.

What you can expect:

In this role you will take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their dialysis treatment stays on track. DSD RNs will troubleshoot, make sound clinical decisions, and occasionally partner with SNF staff to coordinate care. You will also educate patients and families and supervise dialysis technicians to meet capacity and efficiency goals.

Primary work schedule: 3-4 days a week with some travel to other SNF clinics within your region and alternating Saturdays.

Patient education: Provide impactful and meaningful education to patients and their families in the SNF setting.

Direct patient care: Independently demonstrate best practice techniques and deliver optimal dialysis care.

Complexity: DSD care is complex; meeting and/or exceeding clinical outcomes is the goal and multitasking is expected.

Autonomy and critical thinking: Provide comprehensive patient care in an independent setting, applying core nursing skills to assess, diagnose, and implement care plans.

Some details about this position:

  • Your training will include a combination of classroom and hands‑on learning through DaVita’s award‑winning training programs.
  • Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic with a class of new teammates other than your assigned home clinic.
  • Hours of work may vary during the training period; typically 32-40 hours per week during training.
  • May be asked to support other local SNF sites.

You must have:

  • Previous chronic hemodialysis or acute dialysis experience is preferred but not required.
  • Paid hands‑on training program.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in your state of practice and minimum 12 months of RN experience.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing is required; BSN or a three‑year diploma from an accredited program may substitute for a nursing degree.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.

You might also have (nice-to-haves):

  • Training/teaching/healthcare education background.
  • Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN).

What we’ll provide:

  • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash out.
  • Support for you and your family: family resources, EAP counseling sessions, access to Headspace, backup childcare and elder care, maternity/paternity leave and more.
  • Paid training: robust, paid training program to help you learn the right dialysis skills.
  • Opportunity for a nursing career for a lifetime: development and experience pathways including leadership, operations, corporate functions, integrated care, and clinical research.

We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and an affirmative action employer. Individuals are recruited, hired, assigned and promoted without regard to race, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status or any other protected characteristic.
