2nd Grade Teacher - SY Parma Academy

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified 2nd Grade Teacher at Parma Academy in Parma, Ohio. The role focuses on delivering engaging, student‑centered instruction while fostering a positive classroom environment.

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans, adjusting them as needed throughout the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and development.
• Apply research‑based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Manage student behavior effectively in the classroom.
• Create a positive learning environment for students.
• Use curriculum that reflects diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
• Implement school‑wide cultural expectations and norms.
• Communicate and meet with families regarding academic and social‑emotional growth.
• Integrate technology skills into daily classroom practice.
• Participate in planning and executing non‑instructional activities as needed.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Active Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Comfortable working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Capacity to supervise students of various ages in multiple school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.).
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience working within an urban environment.

Salary Range: $38,500 – 48,000 (factors such as geography, skills, education, experience, and qualifications may influence starting pay).
