SUMMARY

Manage sand coordinates the organization,administration, periodic review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the clinical phase of the Veterinary Technology program to ensure compliance with accreditation and professional standards. Provides administrative assistance to supervisor as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manages and coordinates the clinical components of the Veterinary Technology program
  • Ensures student and clinical affiliate compliance with program, professional, and accreditation policies and standards
  • Organizes, administers, and tracks graduate, alumni, and employer surveys to support program assessment and accreditation requirements
  • Creates, reviews, and maintains student clinical rotation schedules
  • Conducts regular clinical affiliate visits, including evening/weekend visits to students in clinical rotation
  • Maintains, renews, and secures new affiliation agreements and contracts for clinical sites and course instruction, in coordination with college policies
  • Investigates and resolves conflicts with students and/or clinical affiliates
  • Monitors and maintains required Bureau of Criminal Investigation background check and current immunization data for all students
  • Performs didactic instruction and/or clinical instruction and evaluation of program courses
  • Under the supervision of the course instructor, assist in animal usage labs (radiology, Vet Science I, Anesthesia, Vet Nursing)
  • Supports the Program Director to ensure effective and efficient program operation
  • Participates in admission, curriculum, and assessment processes
  • Assists with advising and providing guidance to students
  • Maintains effective communication with applicants, students, graduates, faculty, instructors and outside stakeholders
  • Serves as liaison between college and community agencies, professional organizations and other entities vital to the program
  • Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology or education AND Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT); OR a master’s degree in veterinary technology or education
  • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Current licenses/registrations to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Ohio or be eligible for same within six months from hire date
  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated current work experience in the field of Veterinary Medicine
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical practice
  • Demonstrated experience with large and small animal species
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
  • Demonstrated experience requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and quality

  • Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of the community
