Chaplain to join our interdisciplinary team and offer meaningful spiritual and emotional support during life’s most vulnerable moments.
The Chaplain provides spiritual counseling, emotional support, and grief resources to hospice patients and their loved ones. This role ensures that each patient’s beliefs, values, and cultural backgrounds are honored. The chaplain is a vital member of the hospice care team and contributes to holistic, patient‑centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families in homes, facilities, or hospice settings
- Offer grief counseling, crisis support, and end‑of‑life spiritual care
- Respect and support diverse cultural, religious, and non‑religious belief systems
- Conduct spiritual assessments and document all visits per regulatory and agency standards
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to contribute to patient care planning
- Facilitate memorial services, rituals, prayer, or requested spiritual practices
- Provide bereavement support to families before and after loss
- Serve as a liaison with community clergy or spiritual leaders when requested
- Maintain strict confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines for chaplaincy
- Assist with bereavement program development and follow‑up
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Divinity, Theology, Pastoral Studies, Counseling
, or related field preferred - Ordination, endorsement, or certification through a recognized faith body (preferred but not always required)
- Experience in hospice, home health, chaplaincy, or pastoral care strongly preferred
- Ability to work with people of diverse spiritual and cultural backgrounds
- Strong communication, compassion, and crisis‑support skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for home visits
- Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team
