Our Parma, Ohio branch of OSG USA, Inc. is one of the largest full-line domestic die manufacturers in the United States. We offer a wide range of products for the thread forming industry including flat, cylindrical, planetary, trimming, rack and segmented carbide dies. The company markets its products to numerous industries including automotive, die mold, aerospace, energy, heavy industry and dental.

We are seeking a CNC Programmer I to join our growing team! In this role, your primary function is to provide needed CNC Programs to the shop floor for all the various CNC machine tools. Programs consist of Blanking, Pocket Cutouts, Threading, Grinding, and other miscellaneous operations. You will supply the shop floor regarding fixturing, process improvements, and tooling improvements. Provide and update drawings using AutoCAD.

Job

Functions for a CNC Programmer I
  • Create CNC Programs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot CNC Programs, tooling, fixturing issues as needed.
  • Create drawings for cutters, crush rolls, and special tooling as needed.
  • Utilize the Engineering System and other software to perform job functions.
  • Confirm processed orders for correct tooling and programs.
  • Support shop floor on improving processes and reducing cycle times.
  • Optimize existing CNC programs for cycle time reduction, improved tool life, and quality enhancements.
  • Assist in developing proof of concept for new products.
  • Document setups, process instructions, and revisions in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for a CNC Programmer I
  • High School diploma or Trade School Accreditation
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the programming of CNC machine tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to utilize CAD/CAM software packages.
  • Fundamental knowledge of mathematics with an emphasis in trigonometry and geometry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the programming of CNC machine tools.
  • Intermediate skills with AutoCAD drafting software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient with measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
  • Proficient in trigonometry and geometry.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.

Physical Requirements

Compensation

$23.00 - $31.00 range depending on experience + monthly bonus potential
