Production Scheduler

Job Description The Role

The Production Scheduler will be responsible for developing and coordinating the daily production plan and managing the Metal Assembly and Press Operations to meet production needs. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills to interpret Press & Metal Assembly inventories and the operating plans needed to support customer needs capacities/availability compared to shipping requirements. This position requires strong understanding of the National and Local UAW Agreements.

Candidates must exercise independent judgment within the framework of the Global Manufacturing System with a focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environment.

• Analyze daily shipping requirements and develop the production plan for a three-shift operation
• Monitor daily progress to the production plan and adjust as needed
• Communicate and elevate issues/concerns
• Launch readiness
  • Coordinate T-events with die engineering
  • Manage & Support Launch Wall in Metal Assembly and Press Room
  • Ensure jobs/cells are production ready by timelines
• Coordinate both maintenance and die work/repairs with respective groups
• Manage die home line allocations to minimize costs
• Manage and support needs required per Cell Launch Requirements
• Conduct required audits – Layered, WPO, SOTs
• GMS - monitor performance and ensure standards are met
• Support production Group Leaders and hourly teams
• 7000 account champion
• Manage TIP
• Drive improvements in everything we do
• Cover the Area Manager role/duties when needed

• 5 years of experience with production scheduling
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience managing a production workforce
• Strong interpersonal skills, experience managing conflict and decision making
• Strong ability to lead people and address performance concerns
• Demonstrate a high analytical ability to solve complex problems
• Ability to navigate a high-speed, high-volume production area
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
• Self-starter with high sense of urgency
• This is a 2nd shift role – must be able to work off shifts when needed

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred
• Progressive Press experience
• Metal Assembly/Body Shop experience
• Stamping experience
• Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
• High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity and be self-directed
• Experience collaborating across multiple functions within a manufacturing environment
