SummaryPlan, deliver, document, and evaluate nursing care for patients in an assigned area, aligning with provider orders and recognized nursing standards. Direct nursing personnel activities, observe and assess patient conditions, and report findings. Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and uphold Metro Health System’s mission, vision, values, and customer service standards.
Clinical QualificationsGraduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or program seeking accreditation); current registered nurse licensure in Ohio; current AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare provider certification (or to be obtained within 90 days of hire). Must possess the following knowledge and skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of nursing theory, practice, biological, physical, psychosocial, and medical sciences.
- Proficiency in the use and care of instruments, equipment, and supplies related to nursing services or ambulatory medical practice.
- Knowledge of medical asepsis principles.
- Ability to maintain positive working relations with staff and medical personnel.
- High degree of physical coordination and finger‑hand dexterity.
- American Heart Association – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- American Heart Association – Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS)
- American Academy of Pediatrics – Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and additional certifications.
- BMT Step‑down experience.
- Operating Room experience and Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification.
- Post‑Procedure Care Unit experience in PACU or critical care.
- One year of prior psychiatric experience for psychiatry units.
- Five years of critical care experience for radiology units.
- Two years of experience in Cardiac‑Pulmonary Nursing for cardio‑pulmonary rehabilitation.
- Experience with smoking cessation, wellness, and exercise programs for special populations.
- Public health or TB clinic experience.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, prior supervisory or project management experience.
- May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day.
- May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Visual acuity within normal range with or without correction.
- Hearing acuity within normal range with or without correction.
- Ability to lift 250–300 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance.
- Exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
- Exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
