Assistant Store Manager

Role Description

The Assistant Store Manager is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Cincinnati, OH. The role supports daily store operations in a collegiate retail environment, supervising team members, coordinating work schedules, and ensuring that the sales floor, stockroom, and service areas are organized and well‑maintained. This position helps drive sales, support merchandising and inventory processes, monitors compliance with retail loss‑prevention policies and procedures, and delivers a high level of customer service.

The assistant collaborates closely with the Store Manager to implement company initiatives, train staff, and maintain operational standards.

• Strong customer‑focused skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with the ability to support diverse campus communities.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and campus partners, both in person and in writing.
• Experience in store management or retail supervision, including staff support, daily operations, and merchandising.
• Knowledge of retail loss‑prevention practices, with attention to policies, procedures, and inventory control.
• Relevant experience in retail, hospitality, or customer‑facing roles; prior experience in campus or bookstore environments is a plus.
• Ability to work on‑site full time, including peak periods and flexible scheduling as needed.
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and time‑management abilities, with comfort using point‑of‑sale and basic computer systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post‑secondary education or leadership training is beneficial.
