Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and continuous improvement projects on equipment, automated systems, utility systems, buildings, and other physical infrastructure. Supports the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant operations through mechanical, electrical, and automation-related maintenance activities. Approximately 25% of this position's responsibilities are dedicated to supporting the Automation Manager through the troubleshooting, maintenance, modification, and continuous improvement of PLC-controlled equipment, control systems, and automation projects.
EssentialMaintenance Technician Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance functions to manufacturing equipment and the building in support of operating effectiveness and efficiency, facility safety, regulatory compliance, and project performance goals.
- The functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, HVAC, Boiler, Pneumatics, Computerized controls, etc. - Partner and assist with chemistry/lab operations
- Completes checklists, and maintains records of maintenance procedures
- Performs other duties as requested
- Suggest improvements for quality, safety and efficiency
- Support the Automation Manager to perform basic PLC troubleshooting, programming modifications, and improvement of automated manufacturing equipment and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, motor controls, and associated electrical devices.
- Assist with automation projects, equipment startups, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and update PLC programs, electrical schematics, and automation documentation as directed.
- Support automated systems used to monitor production throughput, equipment uptime, and process performance.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, Saturdays are mandatory, when necessary, this will depend on customer requirements.
Travel- Local travel between sites is expected for this position.
- Technical Training and two or more years of related experience in the field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Background in a recognized trade: mechanic, electrician, and/or machinist
- 2 years of basic PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
- Comfortable working in a high-energy, results focused environment
- Must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Allen-Bradley, Siemens or similar platform experience
- Plating and automation experience a plus
- Working with chemicals in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office
