Overview

The Buckeye State is a vital part of our network at Crete Carrier and Shaffer Trucking. Our Columbus terminal is a key midwestern hub. We have opportunities out of Ohio, including local home daily fleets, dedicated fleets with weekly home time and regional or national OTR.

Salary: Top 50% average $107,216 per year

CPM: Starting pay $0.70 to $0.73 per mile

At Crete Carrier and Shaffer Trucking, our miles are up significantly. We need more safe, experienced drivers to meet customer needs. Crete, Shaffer, and Hunt drivers are paid based on practical miles, meaning drivers are paid for 3-5 percent more total miles per year than companies that pay based on short route miles. Recent increases in governed truck speed to 68 MPH on cruise and 65 MPH on pedal contribute to faster mileage accrual.

The most productive 50 percent of our OTR drivers average more than $101,176 annually, equating to over $1,945 weekly; $0.66 to $0.69 CPM. The top 50% of Hunt Transportation drivers average $93,347 annually ($1,795 per week), with starting pay ranging from $0.65 to $0.68 per mile.
