Tax Manager

A well-established CPA firm is looking to add an experienced Tax Manager to its growing team.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than a year-end compliance role. You'll have meaningful involvement with clients throughout the year, work closely with firm leadership, contribute to tax planning and advisory projects, and play an important role in developing both clients and junior team members.

The firm works extensively with privately owned businesses, entrepreneurs, executives and high-net-worth individuals
, giving the successful candidate exposure to a broad and interesting range of tax matters.

You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of clients while acting as a key point of contact for their ongoing tax and business needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and reviewing a variety of federal and state tax filings across individual and business entities
• Providing year-round tax planning and helping clients identify opportunities before issues arise
• Working directly with business owners, executives and high-net-worth individuals
• Advising on transactions, entity structures and broader tax considerations
• Taking ownership of client relationships and becoming a trusted point of contact
• Leading client discussions and translating technical tax matters into clear commercial advice
• Working alongside Partners on complex engagements and client strategy
• Identifying opportunities to introduce clients to additional firm services
• Supporting and developing Associates and Seniors within the tax team
• Contributing ideas around technology, automation and improving internal processes
• Getting involved in wider practice development and growth initiatives

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Active CPA license
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• 7+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong federal, state and local tax knowledge
• Experience reviewing individual and business returns
• Confidence dealing directly with clients and managing relationships
• Experience with complex tax matters and planning
• Strong communication and people-management skills
• A track record of developing less experienced team members
• Interest in advisory work, business development and growing a client base
• Good working knowledge of tax software and Microsoft Office
• A commercially minded approach and the ability to operate with a degree of autonomy

• $135-$175K base salary
  , depending on experience
