Product Innovation Manager

Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 per year.

My client is a leading medical device manufacturing company that is growing. They are looking to add a Product Innovation Manager to oversee the coordination and on-time/in-budget completion of all project tasks across various manufacturing disciplines.

• Represent the customer to ensure expectations are understood and met.
• Provide leadership to technical teams for successful launch of multiple complex programs.
• Service and grow the program base within the Medical / Life Science Industry (Technical Sales).
• Oversee coordination and on-time/in-budget completion of all projects involving machined product, fixtures/tooling, stamped parts and tooling, insert molding parts and tooling, factory assembled automation, and related tooling/processes.
• Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities including DOE's, FMEA's, Process Flowcharts, Control Plans, Capability Studies and Gage R&R's.
• Participate in product design (R&D) meetings with Medical Customers in relation to Weiss-Aug Manufacturing technologies.
• Oversee creation and distribution of project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
• Facilitate Tooling Kickoff, Specification Review, Design Review and Lessons Learned (Post Mortem) Meetings.
• Oversee development and input of initial BOM and detailed routing.
• Initiate and/or coordinate the change control process (ECO) for engineering documentation.
• Execute engineering studies on existing and new programs to facilitate part optimization and debugging.

• 4-yr engineering, technical or management degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in program management/technical project management and/or manufacturing and/or product design (R&D) in the medical device/life science industry.
• Experience with product design, program/project management, and understanding of tight-tolerance manufactured products.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documents; understanding of ANSI/ISO drawing standards and GD&T dimensioning preferred.
• Proficiency with Solid Works for product/tooling design preferred.
• Knowledge of quality inspection tools and methods, and familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools and methods.
• Knowledge of GMP/ISO Quality Systems required.
• Knowledge of TQM, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
