Job SummaryEnvironmental Permitting and Compliance Project Manager, Scientist or Engineer – Air Quality will lead air quality projects across the U.S., preparing emissions calculations, compliance reports, permit applications, and dispersion modeling using programs such as AERMOD, MOVES, and CALPUFF. The role includes strategic compliance support throughout construction and ongoing operational compliance.
Job Responsibilities- Prepare and review air permit applications, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead air permitting effort from initial due diligence through application preparation, construction support, and ongoing compliance.
- Develop, execute, and analyze air quality dispersion models.
- Identify and implement solutions to air quality impacts from modeling analyses, including refining models and working with clients on emission controls.
- Perform modeling analyses for Title V, PSD, New Source Review, and Environmental Impact Statements.
- Prepare and communicate technical work products to clients and agencies at technical and business levels.
- Manage multiple tasks within scope, budget, and schedule while ensuring quality standards.
- Manage project budgets and assist with invoicing.
- Oversee junior staff on specific project assignments.
- Assist in proposal preparation, scope development, and cost estimation.
- Act as liaison between multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on projects across the U.S.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Meteorology, or related field;
Master’s preferred. - 6+ years’ experience with air permitting and multimedia compliance projects in a consulting environment.
- PE or on track to obtain (FE/EIT) or other relevant professional certification (e.g., CHMM) strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and projects effectively.
- Strong teamwork and cross‑disciplinary collaboration skills.
- Strong client relationship management and development skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail, analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits.
