As a Continuous Improvement / Manufacturing Engineering Co-op within the METEM team, you will be an active contributor to tackling one of the world’s toughest challenges: providing cleaner, more accessible energy. You will apply Lean methodologies and engineering principles to optimize non-traditional machining processes that support the global power generation fleet. Depending on your background, you will engage in one of the following technology areas:
- Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) & Fast Hole Drilling (FHD):
Gaining experience in non-traditional machining technologies to support turbine nozzles and buckets. - Electrochemical Machining (ECM):
Applying engineering and chemistry skills in specialized industrial electrochemistry, providing a foundation for future growth in battery or fuel cell research.
- Process Optimization:
Drive customer satisfaction, quality, and fulfillment by reducing variation in key process parameters to improve part quality and performance. - Continuous Improvement:
Learn and apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to identify waste and drive productivity savings throughout the production area. - Troubleshooting:
Work with complex chemical and mechanical process equipment to resolve technical issues in real-time. - Cross-functional Leadership:
Build intimate process knowledge to evaluate improvement areas and lead cross-functional teams to implement these changes. - Safety & Standards:
Maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures to ensure the safe and effective use of production equipment.
Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline.

Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
Eligibility Requirements- Internship Term:
Fall/Winter 2026 (Target Start: September 21, 2026). - Work Schedule:
40 hours per week (1st Shift). - Authorization:
This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). GE will require proof of status prior to employment. - Pay Range: $21.00/hour - $34.00/hour (Based on years of study completed).
