Senior Cost and Financial Analyst – Power Actuation Systems (Position :
-R-S) – 2 Openings – Parsippany, NJ
Reporting to the Business Unit Finance Manager, the Senior Cost and Financial Analyst drives profitable growth by supporting bid and proposal development. The role involves detailed analysis of cost, pricing, margin, and cash flow for new contract opportunities, evaluating the financial performance of existing contracts and product lines, and providing timely, actionable insights to business leadership. The analyst will develop a deep understanding of Marotta’s products, manufacturing processes, and customer value proposition, integrate cross‑functional inputs into standardized costing models, and prepare financial positions for negotiations and decision‑making.
Primary/
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in P&L budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.
- Lead pricing on customer RFPs/RFQs (both FAR regulated and competitive) for new programs, existing products, assemblies, spare parts, and repairs.
- Coordinate with proposal team members (Business Development, Operations, Engineering, Quality, etc.) on all quote and supporting logic.
- Serve as Marotta Finance Lead for customer and DCAA/DCMA audits on bid/proposal under audit.
- Review costed bills of material and make‑vs‑buy decisions for consistency and best value.
- Analyze cost drivers on new and historical designs to support variance analysis and bid/proposal activities.
- Gather, validate, and analyze sales and cost‑of‑sales data to evaluate business performance.
- Assemble and review monthly financial performance trackers with operations, production management, and program management teams.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis across all lines of Business Unit P&L.
- Collect input for Estimates To Complete (ETCs) and Estimates at Complete (EACs) in support of Earned Value for select programs.
- Report and analyze program financial data for weekly, monthly, and annual reviews.
- Collaborate with Program Management to identify risks and opportunities in development and production program execution.
- Lead process improvement initiatives.
- Participate in team meetings and improvement programs to provide recommendations and support company initiatives.
- Ensure timely completion of initiatives through effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to safety, quality, housekeeping, and company policies to meet regulatory and internal standards.
- Contribute to a positive work environment through effective communication at all levels.
- Assist in training personnel on required technical tasks.
- Demonstrate commitment to company values and maintain a clean, secure work area.
- Handle special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.
- Manage conflicting priorities and maintain excellent communication, teamwork, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Apply continuous improvement practices.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Finance or Production/Operations within the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or another technical discipline.
- Core knowledge of EVM principles and project or program application; government contracting experience is a plus.
- Experience on government contracts in capacities such as Contracts Management, Pricing/Proposals, Business Management, audit support, customer negotiations, and program financial metrics (EACs, ETCs, CPI/SPI).
- Superior Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for multi‑faced interactions across all levels of personnel and external agencies.
- High computer literacy, especially MS Office/PC expertise.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Salary: $102,000 - $127,000 per year
