GAF's Finance Rotational Program is a 2 year program designed to develop high-potential talent into future finance leaders. This is accomplished through a series of rotations consisting of 6-12 month periods across the following Finance departments: 12 months for Corporate Accounting & 12 months for FP&A.

As part of the Corporate Accounting team for the first 12 months, we are searching for an entry level accountant who should be able to work independently or as part of the team, be well-organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of the monthly close of the general ledger system and the year-end audits, oversee the general ledger system, various journal entries, analysis, and reconciliations.

This position will work on various projects as required as well as participate in the design, planning, and implementation of process improvements and consistency objectives.

As part of the FP&A team for the following 12 months , We are searching for an entry-level Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) professional who can work independently or as part of a team, is well-organized, detail-oriented, and has the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for assisting in financial forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and strategic financial planning.

The role will involve analyzing financial data to support decision-making, preparing reports to communicate insights, and contributing to the development of financial models. This position will also work on various projects as required and participate in the design, planning, and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and financial modeling software.

Knowledge of G-Suite is a plus.

• Lease Accounting
  • Record and reconcile lease transactions in the general ledger in compliance with lease accounting standards ASC 842
  • Maintain accurate records of lease-related accounts, including amortization schedules and payment entries.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as legal, IT, accounts payable, procurement, and plant accounting to ensure complete deal information
• Asset Management
  • Support the buildout of asset management processes and policies
  • Potential for travel to participate in plant asset counts
• Month-End Closing
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of month-end closing processes.
  • Reconcile and analyze accounts as assigned, including lease accounts
  • Ensure timely closing of books and accurate reporting of financial results.
• Ad Hoc Projects
  • Support special projects and initiatives related to general ledger accounting.
  • Provide assistance with system upgrades, process improvements, or new policy implementations.
• For the subsequent rotations, the specified tasks will be defined within 4 weeks of the rotation start date.

• Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports focused on P&L profitability and corporate cost center spending
