Job OverviewThe Senior Tax Associate will support tax compliance for various corporate entities, with a focus on preparing and filing federal and state tax returns. Responsibilities center around Federal Form 1120‑PC and related state filings, as well as estimated payments, extensions, and responses to tax authority notices. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Manage daily tasks and meet deadlines within a paperless workflow.
- Prepare and file federal and state corporate tax returns-including 1120‑PC and corresponding state filings.
- Assist in resolving complex tax issues.
- Support responses to tax authority notices related to prior-year filings.
- Gather and organize documentation needed for return preparation.
- Assist with quarterly and annual reporting, including filings, forms, extensions, and estimates.
- Stay current on tax law changes and industry developments.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Complete all assigned tasks with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Work independently while maintaining positive communication with team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics, or a related field.
- 1-4+ years of professional tax experience in corporate or public accounting environments.
- CPA license or progress toward CPA preferred.
- Experience with high‑volume tax return preparation.
- Experience with 1120‑PC filings strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax preparation software.
- Experience with One Source is a plus.
- General understanding of accounting and bookkeeping processes.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Extended periods of computer‑based work.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds if needed.
