We are seeking an experienced Senior US Pensions & Benefits Lead to take on leadership of transformation process of employee benefits and retirement programmes across the United States. This role will lead US benefits strategy, governance, compliance, and vendor management, working closely with Global HR, Finance, Legal, and external advisors with the goal to move out from a TSA model to standalone organization.
This role will also oversee Canada implementation with US being the main focus area. The role offers immediate accountability and the opportunity to shape a modern, compliant, and competitive US benefits proposition within a complex, global organisation, including transition activity from TSA to standalone operations. This role reports to the HRD, North America.
- Lead the design, implementation of all US employee benefit programmes, including:
- 401(k) and retirement plans
- Medical, dental, and vision
- Life, disability, and wellbeing benefits
- Equity and other non-cash benefits
- Ensure benefit offerings are competitive and aligned to business and workforce needs.
- Provide benefits modelling, cost analysis, and impact assessments to support decision-making.
- Oversee US benefits vendors during transition, ensuring continuity of coverage and service.
- Align US vendor contracts with global vendor management standards.
- Deliver BAU governance packs, reporting templates, and operating models for ongoing benefits management
- Ensure alignment with Group Pension & Benefits policies and governance standards.
- Design plan changes and maintain up-to-date policy documentation and plan summaries.
- Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory changes (e.g. ACA, ERISA, COBRA, state-specific requirements) and assess business impact.
- Ensure delivery of all statutory filings, disclosures, and compliance documentation.
- Act as the US subject‑matter expert for pensions and benefits.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external advisors to ensure seamless and timely delivery of the new offering.
- Develop clear deployment plan and employee‑facing communications, including benefit summaries, FAQs, manager toolkits, and Total Reward Statements.
- Support leadership and managers with benefits insights and guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in a senior US pensions and benefits role.
- Deep knowledge of US retirement plans (401(k)) and healthcare benefits.
- Strong understanding of US benefits legislation and regulatory frameworks.
