A servant leader who is passionate about leading and building a healthy and scalable technology department where Liquid Church’s AVL and broadcast systems operate with excellence across campuses, and volunteers and staff are equipped and empowered to lead production environments with confidence and excellence.
The Technology Director reports directly to the Worship Experience Pastor and leads a team of two within the technology department: the AVL engineer and the AVL technician. The Technology Director works closely with the Creative Arts Pastor, Worship Director, and Production Director. This is a full‑time position, scheduled Sunday through Thursday for a total of 40 hours per week.
THIS MIGHT BE FOR YOU IF…- You are a leader who enjoys building healthy teams, developing people, and creating systems that operate with excellence and reliability.
- You think strategically and technically, able to design the big-picture architecture for technology environments while guiding your team through the details.
- You are passionate about translating ministry vision into real-world technical solutions that support distraction‑free worship environments.
- You are energized by complex projects like campus launches, facility upgrades, and building scalable technology systems.
- You are mission‑minded and motivated to use your leadership and technical expertise to help people meet Jesus.
- Partner closely with the Worship Experience Pastor, Creative Arts Pastor, and Lead Pastor to understand ministry vision, campus needs, and future growth initiatives, ensuring that technology and production systems support and advance the service experience across all Liquid Church environments.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support for the technology team, including the AVL Technician and Production Systems Engineer, who report directly to the Technology Director.
- Establish clear roles, expectations, and workflows that enable the team to operate effectively.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately while ensuring systems are maintained, projects move forward, and technology environments remain reliable.
- Invest in the growth of team members through coaching, training, and leadership development, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Oversee audio, video, and lighting (AVL) systems across all Liquid Church campuses and Church Online to ensure every venue is equipped to execute weekend services with consistency and excellence.
- Develop and maintain standardized (AVL) systems across campuses, ensuring that technology environments are reliable, repeatable, and scalable as the church grows.
- Regularly evaluate production systems to ensure they operate reliably and consistently across campuses.
- Provide production leadership for ministry events, conferences, and special gatherings at Liquid Church, ensuring all technology environments are planned, prepared, and executed with excellence.
- Collaborate with ministry leaders and the Experience Team to design production systems, staffing plans, and technical workflows that support the goals of each event.
- Ensure the production team is equipped and prepared to support events such as conferences, concerts, staff gatherings, and other church‑hosted productions.
- Develop a preventative maintenance strategy for all AVL systems and production equipment across Liquid Church campuses, ensuring systems remain reliable and prepared for weekend services and ministry events.
- Lead the response and resolution process for technical issues reported through Fresh Desk, coordinating with your technology team to ensure timely troubleshooting, repair, and follow‑up.
- Evaluate recurring technical issues to determine whether improvements in systems, processes, or training are needed, helping campus teams grow in confidence and reduce preventable errors.
- Ensure AVL systems, signal flow, and troubleshooting procedures are clearly documented so production teams across campuses can operate systems consistently and confidently.
