Plant Care Specialist – Overview
The Plant Care Specialist visits various customer sites each day to provide plant care by performing trained tasks such as grooming, rotating, watering, pruning, trimming, removing debris from planters, gauging soil moisture accurately with a soil probe and fertilizing as needed. The specialist ensures plant care while preventing damage to surrounding floors, walls, carpet, furniture, etc.
Responsibilities- Exercise trained techniques to apply and maintain appropriate amounts of water per lighting conditions and plant requirements.
- Ensure plants and display containers are clean and free of dust and debris.
- Keep all plants free from diseases and insects.
- Maintain appearance of top dressing and other ornamental elements.
- Recognize and communicate additional Ambius product needs to grow the business.
- Assist on a variety of plantscape installations including interior or exterior container gardens, wall‑mounted systems, commercial plantscapes, and more.
- Assist on holiday decoration installations decorating the interior and exterior of buildings with a team as well as removal of holiday decorations as needed at the end of the season.
- Maintain scenting and air‑purification equipment as necessary.
- Communicate solidly and solve problems critically.
- Drive a service van/truck in urban and rural settings.
- Climb ladders safely and work on ladders.
- Use pruners, scissors, and other sharp objects safely.
- Experience caring for plants is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license from state of residence.
- Availability to work Monday‑Friday and Saturdays as needed.
- Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math skills – ability to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.
- Required licenses/certificates as governed by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by the company).
- Customer‑facing experience preferred.
Base Pay Range: Hourly: $18.00 – $25.00. Pay may vary by location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment (where applicable).
