Senior Java Full Stack Engineer; Angular

About the role

As a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer, you will make an impact by designing and delivering robust, secure, and scalable enterprise solutions across the full SDLC. You will be a valued member of a cross‑functional engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, and cloud/Dev Ops partners to build modern microservices and intuitive web experiences.

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs to enable secure, reliable data exchange across platforms
• Develop responsive, component‑based user interfaces with Angular
• Model, query, and optimize Oracle databases (PL/SQL, indexing, performance tuning)
• Leverage Microsoft Azure for deployment, monitoring, scaling, and security of cloud workloads
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines (Azure Dev Ops or similar) for automated build, test, and release
• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end, production‑ready solutions following engineering best practices

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience in Java development with Spring Boot and microservices
• Proven experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs
• Front‑end development with Angular (component architecture, responsive UI, client‑side validations)
• Strong database skills with Oracle (schema design, PL/SQL, performance tuning)
• Experience deploying and running applications on Azure (App Services, monitoring, scaling, security fundamentals)
• Practical experience with CI/CD (Azure Dev Ops or equivalent) and source control (Git)
• Solid troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills
• Clear communication, collaboration, and ownership mindset

• Knowledge of Cosmos DB or Couchbase (No

• Containerization and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes, or Open Shift
• Exposure to GCP for multi‑/hybrid‑cloud projects
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, monitoring/observability, and automated testing
• Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or equivalent

The annual salary for this position is between $68,422 to $114,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
