At T‑Mobile, we are seeking a Software Engineer (Network) located in Parsippany, NJ. The role focuses on designing, implementing and deploying software that meets customer requirements, scales efficiently, removes limitations of traditional networking solutions, and supports highly‑available deployment environments.

• Understand system protocols, how systems operate, and data flows.
• Maintain awareness of current technology benefits.
• Independently develop a full software stack.
• Understand the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work.
• Collaborate with technical teams and utilize system expertise to deliver technical solutions.
• Continuously learn new technologies.
• Write documentation on how technology works.
• Contribute clear documentation for new code in systems used.
• Document system designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption at the engineer level.
• Contribute to emerging technologies to deliver business goals.
• Understand current technology that supports business goals.
• Interact with system engineers to define system requirements and necessary requirements for automation.
• Present new ideas which improve an existing system, process, or service utilizing new frameworks.
• Express new perspectives based on independent study of the industry.
• Review current company processes to highlight questions that may drive process refinement.
• Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3‑4 days per week.
• No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

• Understanding of programming languages Java, NodeJS, VueJS and SQL to build new features and enhancements.
• Interpreting technical specifications in accordance with current application architecture and security standards.
• Utilizing interfacing programs Kafka, Elastic Search and Splunk to successfully write and deploy code.
• Using Git Lab and Kubernetes for CI/CD pipeline and deployment environments.
• Working understanding of current design of various software components focused on creating applications and supporting backend data processes that leverage multiple technologies and complex system integrations.

Primary requirement:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or an equivalent international qualification, plus at least 1 year of relevant work experience.
Alternative requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or an equivalent international qualification, plus at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

New Jersey base pay range: $ to $ per year. Salary is influenced by location, qualifications, and experience. In addition to base pay, employees may receive annual bonuses or incentive programs as applicable to their role. All eligible employees receive annual stock grants and participate in the employee stock purchase plan.
