The Recreation Attendant position reports to the Recreation Services Division of the Public Services Department. This position will primarily work at the Delmas Long Community Center and will be responsible for all reception desk responsibilities including communicating effectively and courteously with all patrons of the facility during general operating hours, as well as during private reservation hours and at special events.
Responsibilities- Provide patrons with program and facility information.
- Perform basic office duties such as answering phones, making copies, filing, gathering data, and filing reports.
- Cleaning facility.
- Process Facility Use applications and program registrations and collect fees.
- Issue and monitor equipment and supplies to patrons.
- Assist with recreation programs, classes, activities, and special events.
- Enforce and maintain departmental policies and procedures, as needed.
- Assist Recreation Staff with planning, developing, promoting, executing and evaluating programs and events.
- Attend trainings as scheduled.
- Provide a high level of customer service to all patrons.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Flexible, energetic, outgoing personality.
- Self-starter, punctual, attentive to detail, and able to work well with others and individually.
- Willing to provide a high level of customer service to all patrons.
- Ability to learn recreation software used by the department.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including mornings or evenings and weekends, along with some holidays.
- This is a year round position that averages 20 hours per week.
