Engineering Planner
Engineering Planner is responsible for generating and maintaining production planning to support manufacturing efforts. Compiles and maintains control records and related files to release engineering drawings, specifications, mylars and other engineering documents to manufacturing and other operation departments.
Job Summary- Generates and maintains production work order routings/planning to support customer requirements and delivery schedule.
- Create rework planning for parts or tools as required.
- Reviews customer-engineering changes.
- Reviews customer purchase order requirements and changes.
- Support manufacturing and other departments as an internal customer.
- Coordinates engineering efforts within the department.
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
- Posts changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments.
- Ensures that documents in use are updated to the latest configuration.
- Orders replacement documents as required.
- Tracks engineering changes.
- Confers with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
- Maintains engineering related files.
- Operates reproduction equipment.
- Prepares requests for reproduction of documents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and practices.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, machining, forming and welding, preferred.
- Ability to manage numerous projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and communication skills and detail oriented.
- Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six-Sigma, Continuous Improvement knowledge/experience preferred.
- Overtime as needed to support manufacturing.
- Read and understand internal procedures and policies.
- Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions.
- High School Diploma; up to 3 years related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years' experience as Engineering/Production Planner, preferred.
- Technical writing skills preferred.
- Computer experience:
Microsoft Office, BaaN. - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylars and customer specifications.
