Position: Works Inspector (Utilities) at Parsons

Job Description

This Full time on site position offers great opportunities for career growth. Works Inspector (Utilities) Qatar Parsons is looking for an experienced Works Inspector (Utilities) to join our team! In this role, you will oversee and inspect daily site operations related to utility construction, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Conduct thorough inspections of utility construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on work progress, identifying potential delays or issues and recommending corrective actions to ensure the project remains on track.
  • Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure they meet the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all inspections, including daily reports, safety reports, and quality control checks.
  • Coordinate with the construction teams to ensure smooth execution of utility works, such as water supply networks, sewer systems, drainage systems, and electrical installations.
  • Manage site safety, ensuring that all workers adhere to safety protocols and minimize risks associated with utility works.
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services required for utility works.
  • Assist with testing and commissioning, ensuring that utility components meet the necessary quality and functionality standards before handover.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in utility construction inspection, with at least 5 years in an inspection role for large-scale infrastructure projects such as roads, drainage systems, water supply networks, and sewer systems.
  • Strong understanding of utility construction standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficient in MS Office and inspection reporting software.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to review and check construction work for accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with international construction standards and local codes, particularly in the Middle East or GCC.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and other utility design software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects at the same time.
