Coatings Line Shift Lead - First Shift

Salary: $26.00 per hour.

Position Summary
The Coatings Line Shift Lead ensures that all OPMs are completed and logged, records line stoppages, meets scheduled completion dates, partners with the CDS, ensures proper cross‑training, provides overall supervision of the line, and handles any personnel issues such as time and attendance, while collaborating with HR.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Determine Daily and Weekly Load Schedule
  • Critical Communication
  • Staffing
  • Training
  • Filling Out Timesheets
  • Reporting at Production Meetings
  • Keep Metrics Boards Updated
  • Troubleshooting
  • Respond to Emails
  • Figure Paint Hours
  • Ordering Consumables
  • Auditing All Functions
  • Entering Parts into Computer
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Quality Responsibilities

  • Yellow Tag Rack
  • Auditing All Quality

PM & 6S Responsibilities

  • Auditing OPMs
  • Auditing 6S

Skills and Specifications

  • Completion of operator training program
  • Ability to perform any process on the Coatings Line
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer proficiency in G‑Suite and/or MS Office
  • Experience with Epicor ERP
  • Ability to train other employees
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Solid problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to contribute and work in a team environment
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first‑quality of work
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work
  • Willingness to work additional hours to meet tight deadlines

Education and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent education and experience
  • 3‑5 years experience in powder coating required
  • Experience with Data Paq, Holiday Testing, DFT testing, Profile Testing and Color Matching Paint

Physical Requirements

Must stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. May crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
