AboutThe Role
We’re hiring an Analytical Chemist at our production facility "Prairie Forge" in Parsons, KS to drive quality, consistency, and safety through rigorous analysis of our energetics products. You’ll operate lab instrumentation, manage analytical testing, and partner with production and QC teams to ensure we meet the highest standards of performance and regulatory compliance. We are open to candidates in other geographies and are able to provide relocation bonuses if necessary.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Create DOEs:
Conduct analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products; interpret data and report results - Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments (titrations) according to established protocols
- Collaborate with the broader chemistry team on small scale synthesis R&D
- Develop and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards
- Support root cause investigations when analysis results show deviations or quality concerns
- Document findings in detail and contribute to continuous improvements of test methods and lab efficiency
- Collaborate with QC, engineering, and operations teams to translate analytical insights into actionable improvements
- U.S. citizenship with eligibility for REAL , background checks, and defense-related compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field
- 5-10 years of experience in chemical analysis and/or organic synthesis
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to interpret complex data
- Familiarity with analytical methods such as titrations, NMR, GPC, HPLC, MS, etc
- Comfortable maintaining a stocked lab, following OSHA and HAZMAT regulations, and creating training plans for technicians.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a craftsmanship mindset
- Impeccable attention to detail and self starter
- Experience in defense or energetics industries
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, ISO, DoD QA/QC protocols)
- Prior experience developing SOPs or improving lab processes
