The Role
As a key member of the tax team, a Senior Bookkeeper will handle monthly, quarterly, and/or annual client bookkeeping. The position will also assist in various activities including preparing business returns, 1099s, and processing accounting transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card activity, and employee expense reporting. This role will be performed in a hybrid environment out of our Pasadena or Encino office locations.
Key Responsibilities- Monthly, quarterly, or annual client bookkeeping.
- Analysis of general ledger accounts and reconciliation of bank accounts, with appropriate client communication and action to resolve outstanding issues.
- Process accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card activity, and employee expense reporting.
- Participate in year‑end close by evaluating and preparing required journal entries to ready clients’ books for income tax preparation.
- Prepare business returns including property tax, sales tax, payroll tax, power of attorney forms, start‑up filings and any other required tax forms.
- Conduct Excel spreadsheet analysis for various projects and processes.
- Set up and manage access to clients’ payroll through third‑party vendors and retrieve necessary reports to assist with income tax preparation.
- Prepare 1099s, including obtaining information from clients, matching TINs, and preparing extensions as needed.
- Handle phone calls to clients or government agencies for information required to complete bookkeeping/accounting, as directed by supervisor.
- Prepare and review fiduciary accounting, including court, forensic, and trust accounting for disclosure of trusts to beneficiaries.
- 5+ years of progressive public accounting or accounting services experience.
- Proficiency with Quick Books and Microsoft Office;
Quick Books Pro Advisor preferred. - Strong client rapport and project management skills.
- Four‑year degree in accounting or business preferred.
- Ability to interact well with others in a team environment and to work independently.
- Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Detail‑oriented with strong reconciliation skills, especially for trusts with numerous holdings and transactions.
- Experience with Thomson Reuters Fiduciary Accounting Software (FAS), Quick Books, and Excel.

Pay range: $35.00/hour – $45.00/hour. This role is non‑exempt and eligible for overtime. The range reflects anticipated low and high ends; actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and skill level.
