Accounting Manager
Lucas Horsfall is a CPA firm celebrating its 68th year. We are hiring a CAAS Manager (Client Accounting and Advisory Services) based in Pasadena, CA or Irvine, CA, in a hybrid environment.
The RoleAs a CAAS Manager, you will manage client relationships for mid‑to‑large‑sized entities, advise on financial and strategic initiatives, mentor staff, drive business development, and ensure timely monthly close and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities- Set vision for the monthly close process, ensure deliverables and timely month‑end meetings.
- Own correspondence with clients, staff, and partners.
- Drive departmental growth and contribute to high‑level decision making.
- Mentor, train, and develop staff and seniors.
- Provide advisory and technical expertise in tax services, purchasing accounting, M&A transaction support, payroll advisory, and compliance.
- Assess internal control environments and advise clients on control strengths or weaknesses.
- Serve as liaison through financial statement audits to ensure clients are audit ready.
- Help clients solidify visions through budget preparation and monitor actual vs. budget.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience.
- 2+ years of experience training and supervising staff.
- Experience working with diverse clients including manufacturing, nonprofit, and SaaS.
- Proficiency in Quick Books Online, , Net Suite, and similar tools.
- BA/BS degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Licensed and currently active CPA.
- Ability to manage a demanding, deadline‑driven environment independently or in a team.
- Master’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
- Prior CAAS background and experience in an established Accounting and Advisory Services department.
- Experience building and growing an offshore team.
- Competitive salary ranging from $125,000 to $165,000 per year.
