Staff Accountant

ZFY INC. seeks one full-time Staff Accountant to work at its office in Pasadena, CA. Candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting, along with 24 months of prior Staff Accountant or Accounting Analyst or General Accountant experience. Candidate duties will include:
Verify and reconcile cash balances and accounts receivable records to ensure compliance with accounting standards and reporting accuracy. Gather, record, and perform financial analysis on daily sales transactions across store locations to support revenue tracking and financial reporting. Examine and validate payroll records to ensure proper cost allocation and alignment with labor budgets and accounting principles. Compile financial documentation required for preparation of corporate tax returns and liaise with external accountants on tax compliance matters.

Coordinate with the HR department to provide payroll and financial data in support of workers’ compensation reporting and audits. Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances to maintain integrity of financial records. Prepare and post adjusting journal entries in accordance with GAAP to ensure accurate period-end closing. Prepare and present financial performance summaries and variance analyses to management for strategic decision-making.

Candidate must have 6 months of work experience using Intuit Quick Books, Microsoft Excel, ADP, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat, as well as 12 months of work experience supporting multi-location financial operations, including consolidating daily sales data, validating payroll records, and coordinating tax documentation with external accounting professionals.
