Tax Senior Associate

Overview

Baker Tilly is an independent CPA firm providing tax, advisory, and assurance services to a broad client base including middle‑market and multinational companies. The firm operates under an alternative practice structure in compliance with the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct and is a member of the worldwide Baker Tilly International network.

• Serve as a trusted member of the engagement team, delivering federal tax compliance and consulting services to industry‑specific clients such as S‑corporations, partnerships, individuals, and corporations.
• Participate in tax research projects, draft IRS responses, and address other tax authority inquiries.
• Collaborate with leaders on special projects related to corporate and flow‑through taxation, including accounting methods and ASC 740.
• Develop and present recommendations to clients, supporting strategic decision‑making.
• Communicate and partner with specialty tax practices on complex matters in state and local, high‑net‑worth, international, research & development, and incentives areas.
• Leverage coaching, mentoring, and firm‑wide learning programs to grow technical and client service skills.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting the growth and development of junior team members through mentorship and feedback.

• Four‑year college degree; eligibility to obtain CPA, law license, or EA required; CPA, EA, or law license preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services in a public accounting firm.
• Strong time‑management, communication, interpersonal, relationship‑building, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
• Leadership, project‑management, organizational, analytical competency, initiative, and adaptability.
• Highly developed Microsoft Office skills.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.

Pay rate ranges:

• Pasadena, CA: $85,500 to $108,420
• El Segundo, CA: $85,500 to $108,420
• Woodland Hills, CA: $85,500 to $108,420
